| Canyoning
is a water sport unlike any other. You will discover streams
hidden at the bottom of the sheerest gorges, carved and sculpted
out of schist and granite over the millennia by the torrents
racing down from the Mont Lozčre and the Mont Aigoual. |
|
|
Canyoning includes
walking, sliding down rock faces, jumping and swimming-descending some of
the water falls requires ropes.
We provide guides for
your meeting with these lively waters. |

BAPTISM |

|
This trip is
designed for adults of fourteen years and over as an introduction to
the sport of canyoning. The gorges are located in the mountains
within 30 kilometers of Florac. Sometimes, there is a short walk to
reach the water where you will put on a Neoprene diving suit
(indispensable) and begin the descent of the canyon. Walking,
swimming and sliding down natural rock slides will bring you down.
In some spots, special equipment will be necessary, e.g. ropes to
help you over small water falls.
The guide will
guide you down and help you discover the surrounding Nature. |

These
descents take place in the dramatic gorges around the Mont Lozčre and the
Mont Aigoual-sheer canyons where magnificent water falls throw themselves
precipitously into the deep. The preparation is similar to that for the
Canyoning Baptism trips, but the equipment required is more
sophisticated-harnesses, abseiling gear, double ropes, etc. The level of
difficulty of these trips is partly due to their duration.
Although
not exclusively for specialists, these trips do require some experience of
canyoning or familiarity with the techniques of rappelling. |

ORGANIZATION

From
May to October.
Canyoning Baptism trips leave at about 9 a.m. and return between
3.30 and 4.30 p.m.
Canyoning Sport trips leave at about 8 a.m. and return between
4.30 and 6.30 p.m.
We provide all the equipment necessary, including wet suits and
rock-climbing gear.
Groups consist of seven to nine canyoners.
Descending the canyon takes several hours.
Bring a picnic.
You will drive to the site in your own vehicle.
