The Causses are flat uplands, very windy and sunshiny, delimited
by the gorges of the Tarn river and of the Jonte river.
Agriculture and sheep pasture have shaped the landscape and the
architecture of the stone houses. The main villages are in the
gorges, where you will find excellent places near the water.
This trail leads from Florac to Sainte Enimie in the Gorges du
Tarn. It crosses the «Grands Causses», and the «cornice path»
above the Tarn and the Jonte rivers is in the middle of the
habitat of the vultures.
